Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s silver outfit for her first red carpet look at this year’s Cannes Film Festival was created by Sophie Couture. Ash, attending Cannes for his 21st year, turned heads in an OTT silver gown with a black hood and bow – all oversized. It was a divisive, if flashy, and certainly unexpected look on Aishwarya who generally takes a few fashion risks. 10 out of 10 for the effort in this though we can’t imagine many would love the look – that said, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks better than anyone else probably would.

The dress was debuted by Aishwarya at Cannes, as per Sophie Couture’s Instagram post. The silver sequins are made of aluminum and crystal. The dress image shown in the post doesn’t have the ribbon, but the actual image – on the last slide – does.

“Revealing this stunning creation from our Maison, paired with lightweight aluminum detailing, bodice and signature crystal, from the Cannes Capsule Collection,” read the caption on Sophie Couture’s post.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet at the premiere Indiana Jones And Dials Of Destiny, the fifth Indiana Jones film starring Harrison Ford. Ash has represented cosmetic giant L’Oreal at Cannes for almost two decades. His first appearance at a film festival was for a screening Devdas and he became a judge the following year.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who was in Cannes with her daughter Aaradhya who is her regular traveling companion, was recently spotted at the famous Mani Ratnam. Ponniyin Selvana two-part historical drama based on the Chola dynasty.

Indian celebrities who have walked the Cannes red carpet so far apart from Aishwarya include Sara Ali Khan, Mrunal Thakur, Urvashi Rautela, Esha Gupta and Manushi Chhillar.
