Massive Movie Prop Auction Includes Life-Size Batpod, Princess Leia’s Dress, And More

One of the most exciting things about these props auctions is that they go from something small, like Kevin Costner’s baseball glove from “Field of Dreams” or Tim Robbins’ rock hammer from “TheShawshank Redemption” to an actual full-sized Batpod. Christian Bale (and his stunt double) driving “The Dark Knight.”

This massive upcoming auction will have around 1,400 pieces of film history up for bid. There will be some items that will sell in what could be considered an affordable range (a few thousand or less) for someone with a little savings to hit their pockets, but big ticket items are expected to sell for hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars.

The Batpod is thought to have sold for $2 million or more, as did Princess Leia’s ceremonial gown from the final scene in the 1977 original “Star Wars.” Also on sale is the Star-Lord helmet from the first “Guardians of the Galaxy”, which is equipped with an LED light and is expected to retail for between $100,000 and $200,000.

The super evil “Poltergeist” clown? Well, you’d have to spend $200,000-$400,000 if you wanted to put it in your child’s bedroom and never win the Parent of the Year award.
