Lindsay Hubbard Defends Her Engagement Dress

After Lindsay Hubbard happily accepted Carl Radke’s proposal in Season 7 Episode 13 ofSummer housePaige DeSorbo has a theory that Lindsay knew her day would come, given her clothing choices.

In his confession, the fashion influencer said, he wore shoulder pads to the beach. He knew he would be proposed to! Nothing just pops up in shoulder pads out to sea. I feel like a bitch just saying what everyone is thinking in their heads. She curls her hair, and just like it should! I am proud of him. Yes, if you know it happens, choose the best clothes. Get your nails done. Be prepared!

Following the airing of the episode, the Bravo fan account shared Paige’s reaction to Lindsay’s engagement performance. Lindsay then weighed in with a naughty comment on the coral color bra top with swirly patterns that Paige wore in her confessional: Love that coconut bra! Is fromGilligans Island?

Fast forward to Part 1 of the Season 7 reunion which premiered on May 29. Host Andy Cohen not only asked Lindsay and Carl if he knew the proposal was coming, but encouraged the cast to give their two cents on the matter.

Let’s break down the engagement dress drama:

Lindsay defended her engagement dress at the reunion

“The proposal was great,” Andy said at the reunion, “But, I mean Lindsay, you put that dress on, your eyelashes, your makeup, everything to go to the beach… where do you think you’re going?”

“That bonfireWe allgoing,” Lindsay shared. As Andy remains skeptical that her Ramy Brook chevron cerulean pattern midi dress ($645 is currently sold out) is for “bonfires,” Lindsay went on to explain the thought process behind her look.

“I went around the whole house and I was like, ‘What kind of bonfire are we doing, girls? Are we going to do jeans and T-shirts? Are we going to be like, elevated?’ And everybody was like, ‘Exalted!'” he explained. “So I was like, okay, I have one dress that is taller.”

Carl thinks the proposal was a surprise

“When she put the clothes down and leaned into the blue dress, I was like, ‘Thank goodness!’ because I was worried about that,” Carl shared after Lindsay explained what her wardrobe choices were.

“Do you think he knew beforehand?” challenge Andi.

“I think he does, but I promise you guys: I did everything in my power to make this a surprise,” Carl insisted.

Andy continued by asking his Hamptons roommates to “raise [their] hands” if they thought Lindsay knew about the proposal beforehand, causing Paige, Danielle Olivera, Ciara Miller, and Mya Allen to all raise their hands.

Carl’s old friend Kyle Cooke, puzzled by the matter, raised his hand halfway. Kyle’s wife, Amanda Batula, and Summer houserookie Gabby Prescod both thought Lindsay was at least a little “fishy” of the situation, which Amanda noted was “normal”.

Andy then brought up Paige’s aforementioned confessional comments about Lindsay’s “shoulder pads,” saying they were “hints” for her.

“When she asked me if I liked the dress,Thatis my lead,” Paige said. “Because I’ve been in this house for five years [and] she never asked me any fashion-related questions.”
