“Peer-to-peer shopping is nothing new, but what is new is the fact that women of color, especially black women, drive so many styles and trends, and we never even get recognized for it,” says Couch.

“Black people do engage in something called conspicuous consumption,” he added. “That means we spend more on our clothes so we can fit into a certain genre or so we can be seen in a certain way. While a lot of people don’t like this, I take that simple behavior, and I want to create a platform where we are rewarded for it.

Couch continued, “So, [usually] if you love and fly and you like to spend as much money as you want on Jordans, and you push the product where people see you, they’ll probably go out and buy it. People saw it, brands saw it, they went out and created more looks around it. But you never get paid for it. For the first time on my platform, you will monetize one by one.”
