PARIS, June 23 (Reuters) – French fashion label Officine Generale showed off a series of relaxed stitches on the runway on Friday as part of Paris Fashion Week.
“The goal was to really manage to work on a looser, more pliable shape of the suit jacket,” says the label’s founder and designer, Pierre Maheo.
The collection, which includes both men’s and women’s looks, features stylish slouches and jackets, light coats and cotton pants with an elastic waist.
Models marched down the cobblestone catwalk on the grounds of the Hotel de la Monnaie on the Left Bank in Paris wearing white cotton sneakers or simple ballerina sandals which completed the more dressy look.
One of several contemporary French labels leveraging the post-pandemic wave of fashion demand in the United States to set up their own retail operations there, the brand plans to open a store on Madison Avenue in New York City this fall.
The Paris Fashion week menswear show, which ends on June 25, features dozens of labels ranging from some of fashion’s biggest names like LVMH’s Louis Vuitton and Dior, as well as Hermes, to smaller emerging brands.
