Kamal grew up in a middle-class family and lost his father when he was 19 years old. Despite always wanting to launch his own business, he lacked the funds to do so. To meet his daily needs, Kamal also works at a video cassette company. However, Kamal had a passion for fashion retail, so in 1992, he founded Mr. & Mr. Shirt Company and began manufacturing and selling men’s shirts.
Starting From Brand Mufti
Kamal is not happy with his business, even if Mr. Company. & Mr. Prosperous clothes. While making the shirts, Kamal found that while menswear came in a variety of styles, all the brands sold the same thing. He came up with the idea to start a brand that would provide progressive fashion for men.
Without the necessary capital, Kamal decides to borrow Rs 10,000 from his maternal aunt to open his own menswear business. Kamal launched Mufti in 1998 as a fashionable menswear line. In the early stages of his entrepreneurial career Kamal had no employees and no office. He used to pedal his bicycle to the repair shop while being burdened with clothes. He used to personally visit locations to sell clothes. This continued for some time. The Mufti eventually began to rise in popularity.
The company that started with Rs 10,000 eventually grew to be worth multi-million dollars. The founder has claimed that the business is on track to generate revenue of Rs 450 crore and will generate revenue of around Rs 900 crore over the next five years. The company generated revenue of Rs 395 crore during the 2019 fiscal year.
