Fashion serves as a staple in people’s lives to express themselves. It transcends generations and maintains a certain period of time. But fashion can be more than just clothes and accessories. Flowers by Edie Parker cutting fashion and marijuana are two things that are important to many but rarely connected. Luckily for Colorado residents, Flower by Edie Parker is debuting in dispensaries across the state.
Founding father Brett Hyman made Edie Parker in 2010. Named after his daughter, this New York City-based company offers chic acrylic bags, accessories and a growing home collection. Hyman has been collecting acrylic bags all his life and his experience in fashion paved the way for Edie Parker.

Soon, Edie Parker bags were displayed in stores and at red carpet events on the arms of famous celebrities such as Chelsea Handler, Demi Lovato, Kacey Musgraves, Miley Cyrus, Busy Philipps, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and many more.

In 2016, Hyman expanded the brand to feature in-house collections as well as a personalization program for customers to create bags made to their specifications. Edie Parker’s work is handcrafted in the United States and Italy. Although expensive, customers can expect a quality product that will last a long time.
In planning the home collection, internally as a team, we constantly talk about cannabis use and how it’s become a part of our lives and how nothing really sells on the marijuana accessory market that Edie Parker feels considered and so beautiful. created and collected, says Hyman.
This led to the birth of Flowers by Edie Parker in May 2019. Along with accessories, the actual flower arrangements filled the hole that Edie Parker’s team believed existed in the dispensary and cannabis industry.
While marijuana is still a controversial topic in some areas of the United States, it’s no secret that Colorado people love their marijuana. That’s why Hyman decided to bring Flower by Edie Parker to Centennial State. In partnering with Slang around the world, Hyman fulfills its goal of reaching out to women in the cannabis industry. Flower by Edie Parker is now available at pharmacies across the state, includingHigh Country Healing in Silverthorne, High Country Healing in Vail,Telluride Green Room in Telluride,Naturita’s Green Room at Naturita andColorado Local Products in Denver.

Besides selling flowers, Flower by Edie Parker also offers a variety of cannabis accessories. We have carefully considered products that are meant to be displayed and passed down from generation to generation. And we don’t feel like marijuana accessories should be treated any differently. “I mean you know it’s such a beautiful bar accessory, we thought it was an item to gift and show off,” Hyman said.
The intersection of fashion and marijuana is a new phenomenon. As a result, Hyman and team faced several counterattacks. This was to be expected, because a lot of people were looking at us and like I don’t understand, you made those expensive handbags and now you’re making dope? So, I feel when I explain the journey of thinking, it makes sense. But it looks like we’re still getting a lot of eyebrows, says Hyman.
The brand is home to a flagship store on Madison Avenue featuring Flowers by Edie Parker, which is a treasured feeling for Hyman, despite his opponents. “When we launched we knew we were going to offend some people but we really believe in what it does and some kind of value and factory magic and also in normalization and some sort of mainstreaming, and we’re very happy to be apart of that conversation,” he said.

The cannabis industry stems from a dark past marked by racist policies directed at minority communities. According to American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), marijuana arrests now account for more than half of all drug arrests in the United States. In the same vein, blacks are 3.73 times more likely to end up behind bars on marijuana charges than whites.
While this problem persists in the cannabis industry, Hyman is aware of buyers and their reactions. I think one of the greatest things about cannabis and the cannabis market and cannabis consumers is how much do they demand that kind of accountability from their brand and some kind of transparency about how you give back? “Because obviously, historically, there has been some kind of racist, enforceable police policy in the War on Drugs,” he said.
Therefore, Edie Parker replied in various ways. Following the company’s launch in 2010, Hyman founded the Edie Parker Foundation and earned 501(c)(3) status. Now, the company is donating to charitable organizations that support women and children, one of which is Women’s Prison Association. We are also reactive, so during the pandemic, we give a lot to food banks like Feeding America we go where it’s needed, says Hyman.

Regarding the future of Flower by Edie Parker, Hyman hopes to see continued growth. Over the past 10 years, the Edie Parker team has learned a lot about the fashion industry and is effectively using their findings to support their next endeavor.
Not to say stop making bags, I think we’ve always had it as our kind of halo product and that kind of aspirational product, but I think it’s trying to be a kind of cannabis lifestyle brand that’s the first of its kind, says Hyman. So why don’t you have a pretty acrylic bag that might have hidden compartments for your joints and whatnot? We kind of look at it very holistically and think it’s really the attitude and the kind of look and feel and sense of optimism and look and gift ability that touches all of our products.
