Houston restaurant Turkey Leg Hut dragged over for anti-Black dress code

Popular Houston restaurant Turkey Leg Hut released a new dress code on Friday that bans wave hats, frock fabrics, sagging pants, and other clothing, and people don’t have them.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, the restaurant released an early version of their new code, which got such a strong reaction on some social media platforms that they had to upload a revised version and disable the comments section of some Instagram posts.

Some place called Turkey Leg Hut posted this dress code on their Instagram page. I’ve been to weddings with a more relaxed dress code, said Twitter user @TheRealHoarse, who posted screenshot from the original policy.

In the revised version, the Houston restaurant removed the clause that dictated all body parts must be completely covered including the cleavage, thighs, and buttocks, where they added, the only ones naked here were the Turkey Legs and Chicken Wings.

All other policies remain unchanged, including a ban on swimwear, obscene language or images on clothing, pants that are too baggy, revealing underwear such as sports bras or panties, and home wear such as wave caps, undergarments, and hats.

As soon as the internet learned about restaurant policies, Twitter exploded with memes that satirized the code by posting photos of people wearing 7-piece suits and traditional Victorian attire, suggesting that restaurants expect their customers to dress.

New policies will not work without enforcement. Twitter user @CaramulGoddess claims in post that she was denied entry to the Turkey Leg Hut on June 24 because her boss showed excessive cleavage.

Despite the negative attention, the Houston restaurant posts Instagram videos Saturday morning appeared to show long lines of customers waiting under tents in the rain three hours before opening.

The caption reads: Let’s get this dress code started lol I mean it’s a beautiful Saturday it’s going to rain and all we think about is a hater saying something we love.
