John Lewis says sales of his navy polka dot ties have more than doubled in a week, while TM Lewin says sales of ties have increased 250% after the semi-finals in his wildly popular navy polka dot style.
Sold out last night after Wednesday’s game, the brand has now replenished its polka dot style called The Southgate. In Matalan, the 4 polka dot tie also sold out after the semifinals.
That means businesses are again capitalizing on the Southgate effect, which was previously seen in 2018 with sales of the vest increasing after he wore it during the World Cup.
