Mercantile in Morris’s newest store for men, Bridge + Root opens tomorrow. Keep reading for exciting shop details and grand opening specials!
With 25 years of experience in the retail industry, Aisha Taylor is no stranger to fashion. His retail career began during his time at the University of Alabama and he has never backed down. Since 2016 he owns and operates his own t-shirt company: Elements and Vibration. After the murder of Alton Sterling, Taylor searches for a t-shirt that expresses his feelings but can’t find it. So, he created it. Starting with its FREEDOM statement tee, Element and Vibe uses clothing to express people’s irritation and inspiration. Now, Aisha Taylor is stepping into the world of men’s fashion with the opening of her first physical store at Mercantile on Morris, Bridge + Root.
Beginning
While working as a personal shopper, Taylor realized that Birmingham was missing something important: a store with quality products for men. Ten years after realizing what Birmingham needed, he provided it. Bridge + Root’s mission is to bring home the fact that it’s okay to be different. It’s okay not to try to fit into the status quo type box and be who you are. Taylor explained.
You can still be corporate and add a little fun, a little spice.

Dont worry. Described as a conglomerate of all things men’s, this shop carries products from blazers, joggers and fedoras to bow ties, leather bags and travel cream colognes, there is something for every man. People who shop at Bridge + Root should enjoy dressing well.

Big opening
Bridge + Root will be hosting their grand opening tomorrow from 5-9pm at 2212 Morris Ave (just opposite The Dagny). Expect to find DJ gifts, food and wine, as well as gift cards from all your favorites like EastWest, Yo Mamas, Paramount and El Barrio. Plus, there will be a special Bridge + Root gift card awarded.
