As part of a review of the ordinances of the Park Ridge City Code, a proposal was submitted to the Park Ridge City Council on July 6 to eliminate gender bias in the public dress code.
Administrative Services Manager Leisa Niemotka advises removing references to a person appearing in clothing that does not belong to that person’s gender. Final adjustment of the language continued through meetings, but there was general agreement by board members.
Irregular Behavior and Obscenity will continue to prohibit individuals from appearing in a state of nudity or exposure or indecent behavior that could be described as obscene or lewd.
