Northern Health Region Adds 101 Cases, Two Deaths Friday, BC Vaccination Card Begins Monday | Energeticcity.ca

Of 9,642 cases in the Northern Health Region, 8,686 have recovered.

There have been 1,303 doses of vaccine administered since Thursday, bringing the total number of doses to 336,244. Of these, 155,409 are second doses.

Provincial COVID-19 Data

British Columbia added 820 new cases, bringing the number of active cases to 5,850.

There are 281 people hospitalized, 135 are in intensive care.

Nine deaths were recorded on Friday, bringing the provincial total to 1,856.

Of 173,158 cases in British Columbia, 165,027 have recovered.

Across the province, 13,075 doses were administered on Friday, bringing the total number of doses to 7,583,999. Of these, 3,616,553 are second doses.

Over 1.7 million people already registered for the BC Vaccine Card

The British Columbia Immunization Card goes into effect Monday, and 1.7 million British Columbians have already registered online, Health Minister Adrian Dix said.

Starting Monday, residents over 12 will need to prove they have been immune to COVID-19 in order to access non-essential services and activities.

Concerts, restaurants, and gyms are examples of non-essential services and activities that will require proof of vaccination. Fast food restaurants, dining halls, and cafeterias, however, won’t.

As of Friday, 85.5% of eligible British Columbians over the age of 12 had received one dose and 78% had received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
