Akron Children offers COVID-19 driving tests

AKRON, Ohio – Akron Children’s Hospital will begin offering drive-thru COVID-19 testing at its Akron campus on Wednesday.

The drive-thru test is available for children, whether patient or not, with or without symptoms, and for young adults up to 26 years of age who are still in the care of Akron Children’s.

Testing will take place in the circular aisle of the hospital’s Kay Jeweler’s Pavilion, located at 177 West Exchange Street.

The tests will be available Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to noon.

Test results should be available within 48 to 72 hours of testing.

Appointments are required and can be scheduled through MyChart.

Insurance information will be required during planning and during testing.
