Symptoms of COVID-19 persist in some patients months after infection

Since the start of the pandemic, thousands of Valley residents have tested positive and recovered from COVID-19, but for some, symptoms persist long after infection.

Health professionals at the Mayo Clinic say they are learning more about why symptoms persist for so long, and who they affect.

The Mayo Clinic’s COVID-19 Activity and Rehabilitation Program Medical Director, Dr Greg Vanichkachorn, says between 10 and 30% of all COVID-19 patients he has seen have exhibited long-term symptoms. term of the virus, including shortness of breath, fatigue, and brain fog, among others.

While some people say their long-term symptoms are mild, for others it is the opposite.
