Opening of a vaccination center for COVID-19 booster injections in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) – The Virginia Department of Health and Chesterfield Health District have announced the opening of a state-run Community Immunization Center (CVC) in the county.

This CVC will offer COVID-19 booster injections for the Pfizer vaccine. The clinic will also provide the first and second doses of all COVID-19 vaccines free of charge.

The CDC recommends that the following people receive a Pfizer recall:

  • People 65 and over
  • Long-term care residents aged 18 and over
  • People aged 50 to 64 with underlying medical conditions

The following groups may receive a Pfizer recall:

  • People aged 18 to 49 with underlying medical conditions
  • People aged 18 to 64 who are at increased risk of exposure and transmission to COVID-19 due to a work or institutional environment

The CVC will open on October 16 at the Rockwood Vaccination Clinic, located in the former Big Lots store at Rockwood Mall at 10161 Hull Street Road in Midlothian.

The clinic will operate Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 7:30 pm You can register by calling 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682). Walk-ins are also welcome.
