Douglas County Board of Health Statement in Response to the U.S. District Judge’s Oct. 26 ruling regarding the recent Public Health Board Order:
“We respectfully disagree with the court’s decision to issue a temporary restraining order. We remain confident that when we have more time to present a complete case, we will be able to demonstrate that the Douglas County Board of Health has struck the right balance between protecting public health and involving parents in decisions. in health care for their children. Our order allowed the school district to continue its mask mandate even though the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment lifted its statewide mask mandate for students in July. We will continue to encourage the Douglas County Board of Education to make all parents partners in decisions that have a fundamental impact on their children. “
