Health Care Value Analysis 101: Getting Into Health Care Value Analysis

The first part of this two-part series will guide participants through a review of the concepts of a healthcare value analysis program. This interactive session examines how to formulate and operationalize a successful program based on interprofessional collaboration with clinicians, supply chain staff and value analysis professionals. This discussion includes concepts and considerations that are currently being seriously considered based on issues arising from COVID-19.

Gloria Graham DNP, RN, CVAHP, Clinical Value Analyst, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center

Gloria Graham DNP, RN, CVAHP has 32 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including positions in neuroscience, emergency medicine, forensics, value analysis and supply chain. Currently, she is a Clinical Value Analyst in the Contracts and Value Analysis Division for Supply Chain Management at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Healthcare Leadership from Mt. St. Joseph University, an MSN in Nursing (MSN) from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Berea College.

Colleen Cusick, DNP, MBA, RN, FAHRMM, Director, Materiel Management, The Johns Hopkins Hospital

Colleen Cusick is a registered nurse with over 42 years of nursing and management experience. As Director of Materiel Management for Johns Hopkins Hospital, she is responsible for operationalizing supplies and equipment for over 90 clinical and procedural areas. Colleen has expertise in project management, policy development, product reviews, patient safety, sustainability and supply chain management. She holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and an MSN and Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from Vanderbilt University. Colleen is a member of the AHRMM and AHVAP and a frequent speaker on topics related to supply chain, value analysis and sustainability.

Continuing education credits (CEC):
