Campaign Aims To Answer Parents’ Questions About Vaccines And Children – CBS Denver

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colorado (CBS4)– Jefferson County has launched a campaign to answer parents’ questions about COVID-19 vaccines and children. The campaign “COVID-19: Helping Children Be Children” and the goal is to help parents feel more comfortable when it comes to getting their children vaccinated.

A number of health agencies in Jefferson and Boulder counties, Denver and Tri-County Health are involved in the campaign. They spread the message on social media, television, radio, and pediatricians’ offices.

“Particularly because we know that when it comes to making decisions about your children’s health, there are so many other facets involved,” said Nikki Wellander of Jefferson County Public Health. “Parents are right to ask questions. They are 100% justified in making sure they have all the information at their fingertips. “

Most children who get sick with COVID-19 have mild symptoms or no symptoms. Children with underlying health problems are at increased risk for serious illness. Vaccination helps protect immunocompromised children who cannot receive a vaccine.
