COVID Update

To protect patient privacy, DCH has established a minimum threshold of five for reporting the number of hospitalized patients with laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Internal accounts of the DCH health system at 2:27 p.m. on 1/3/22:
- 47 patients hospitalized in the DCH system who are positive for COVID-19.
- 9 hospitalized patients positive for COVID-19 are treated in intensive care.
- 7 hospitalized patients positive for COVID-19 are on ventilators.
- Five or fewer hospital patients who test positive for COVID-19 are on BiPAP.
- 12,666 unique (cumulative) positives for COVID-19 tests, including emergency room, triage tent and inpatient results. These people are not necessarily in the hospital.
- 56,113 unique (cumulative) negatives for COVID-19 at DCH sites.
- 15,229 (cumulative) positive for COVID-19 at DCH sites. These people are not necessarily in the hospital.
- 120,593 negative tests (cumulative) on the DCH sites.
- 4,343 inpatients (cumulative) who tested positive for COVID-19 were discharged from the hospital.
- 780 hospitalized patients (cumulative) who tested positive for COVID-19 died from DCH. This is not an indication of the cause of death, only that individuals were positive for COVID-19 at the time of death.
