Flu/COVID-19 Vaccination – Palomar Health

Each year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (www.cdc.gov) recommends a new flu vaccine to protect against future flu strains. Once again, Palomar Health will administer the standard quadrivalent influenza vaccine for the 2022-2023 influenza season. We are offering a limited supply of the senior high-dose vaccine.

The vaccine will not prevent diseases caused by other viruses. It takes up to two weeks for the protection to develop after firing, and the protection lasts six months to a year. Palomar Health, working under national guidelines provided by the CDC, is prepared to vaccinate as many people as possible, ages 9 and older, through its community flu vaccination clinics. Palomar Health nurses will provide the flu vaccine by injection to people age nine and older. Training will be provided on the differences between the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccines.

We will be hosting these health events to schedule COVID-19 vaccination appointments and to educate the community about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccinations. These events are free to the public.
