How’s that New Year’s resolution going? It’s time to re-engage!

BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) — We’re 69 days into 2023, and according to Forbes, only 14% of us have kept the New Year’s resolutions we made in January.

While crowds and classes at some gyms may have dwindled, it’s not too late to recommit to planned 2023 goals. Personal trainers say they’re seeing a drop in members breaking through doors compared to their rush in January, but if you got lost or just forgot about resolutions, the good news is that it’s never too late to start over.

“Don’t feel like a New Year’s resolution is something you can only start at the start of the new year; you can choose at any time and if you fall off the wagon, go back. Ask for help, reach out to someone, even just a friend,” said Angela Petron, operations manager at Verge Fitness.

Angela Petron says meeting with a fitness professional to assess your goals and make sure they’re realistic in time and volume, and for accountability, is another way to stack the odds in your favor for reaching your goals. . She says the simple act of showing up to the gym, even if it’s for 20 minutes, can help build a strong foundation for building healthy habits.
