Q: Can I introduce myself and use the VTC services?

A: No, all individuals must be assessed in person initially. The provider will then discuss treatment options and whether VTC care is potentially right for you.

Q: Where are the screens for VTC, can I do it from home?

A: We have several VTC suites located in our main clinic, building 4066. Most VTC care occurs in our building here in Fort Wainwright, but speak with your provider for the option of having VTC sessions at your home. The VTC connects to providers located at other military processing centers in the United States.

Q: Where will I get my prescriptions if my VTC Psychiatrist is in another state?

A: All medications prescribed by VTC can be picked up at the Bassett Army Community Hospital pharmacy immediately after the visit.

Q: Is this program open to dependents or children?

A: Yes, ride-hailing providers can see dependents and children aged eight and over.

Q: Is VTC therapy as effective as face-to-face therapy?

A: It depends on the individual. Some find VTC therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face meetings. Others don’t like this type of interaction and find it much less effective.
