MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – According to the CDC, more than 795,000 people in the United States suffer a stroke each year.
Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi are in the stroke belt, which means there is a much larger stroke incident in the Mid-South.
One Health Regional Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine Dr. Anna Yang joined Action News 5’s Andrew Douglas at the digital desk to explain why so many people in our community are experiencing strokes, the warning signs and the importance of getting treatment quickly.
