Many were enjoying the beautiful weather Wednesday afternoon in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. However, they might also feel their allergy symptoms increase.

“It’s more pronounced when I’m mowing the lawn or working on any landscaping,” Antigone Goetz said. “My car is covered in a thick layer of pollen.”

“For me this morning when I woke up my eyes were really itchy,” said Damaris Nugin of Dirty Dian Brand.

“I really sneeze. I can always tell early in the morning when I go out,” said Aminah Khalilah of Streetstylehaute.

This week, pollen counts are expected to be high to moderate.

“We have a slight increase in grass pollen. We have tree pollen. We had a very wet week before and now the weather is beautiful and perfect for pollen,” said medical contributor Dr Mike Cirigliano. from FOX 29.

Dr. Mike recommends using an over-the-counter nasal spray, taking allergy medication, and doing a sinus rinse.

“Works like a charm because it gets all the pollen out of your nose and if you do it, like I do every morning and every night, you’ll be fine,” Dr Mike said.

If you have severe allergies, make an appointment with an allergist. Also, do not give any allergy medication to children without first consulting their pediatrician.
