The Idaho Children’s Health Project (ICHP), which operates a combination of stationary clinics and a mobile dental clinic, provides medical, dental, and behavioral care to low-income, uninsured, and medically underserved children and their families in rural communities in the center-south. Idaho.
During the school year, the IHP primarily serves low-income and uninsured families. During the summer months, migrant seasonal agricultural workers add to their patient population. Many of these people have limited access to health care, often due to the lack of public transport in the area. For some, it is particularly difficult to seek treatment because they live an hour away from an establishment.
Many patients, including migrant workers and their families, face additional challenges in accessing health care due to language and cultural barriers.
