Social Justice Leader Maria Mutesi ’24
Maria Mutesi is a health science student and began working as a social justice leader to help show her representation on campus and educate herself on unfamiliar topics. For her, diversity means embracing people’s backgrounds, which includes race, gender, geography and their values/culture.
She enjoys working at the center with different people, learning about diversity, inclusion, equality and empowerment hours. “Those are the best parts of being a social justice leader at the Diversity Center,” she says.
During her free time on campus, you can find Maria reading interesting books, dancing or hanging out with friends.
And if she could be in any movie, she would be in Black Panther!
Our social justice leaders work hard to advance diversity, equity, and social justice on our campus and beyond.
