NMCPHC OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT (HRA 2.0) WEBPAGE

Complete the HRA 2.0 https://surveys.max.gov/911272?lang=en

About the NMCPHC Workplace HRA 2.0: The Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) Occupational Health Risk AAssessment 2.0 (HRA 2.0) is brief and anonymous for military and GS civilians. This measures the lifestyle behaviors that are most commononly associated with adverse health effects.

Participant’s booklet: The Participant’s Booklet highlights health risks, provides credible web sources of health information, and encourages and empowers the user to better manage their personal health. The booklet also serves as a tool for the user to initiate dialogue with their health care provider. This HRA 2.0 is not intended to replace consultation with a healthcare provider.

Order reports: The “Command Report” is based on a workplace identifier (Navy or Marine Corps UIC) and can be used to assess the overall health of a workplace or any group of workplaces. Reports will be provided on the website as follows:

  • First part of the year: monthly, May-June
  • Mid-year: Bi-weekly, July-September
  • End of year: Weekly, October-December

However, at the moment we do not know what the format will be. More information to come.

The HRA 2.0 is not the PHA: The web-based Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) required for every active duty member (per DoDI 6200.06) has its own built-in HRA-style questions. There are three key differences between HRA and PHA:

  • (1) The PHA questions differ somewhat from the NMCPHC Workplace HRA 2.0 and are, in some cases, more clinical;
  • (2) ASP is not anonymous and forms part of the members’ medical records;
  • (3) PHA data does not include member workplace identifiers and PHA data cannot be retrieved for use in occupational health risk analyses. Therefore, the HRA 2.0 remains the only tool available to workplaces to understand the health risk behaviors of their staff and the HRA 2.0 remains the basis of the HRA-related rating for the Blue H – Navy Surgeon Health and Welfare Promotion Award.

Using the NMCPHC Workplace HRA 2.0:

  • Decide how and when you will offer HRA 2.0 to members in your workplace. For example, the commander can invite all civilian and military members of the SG via email to complete the HRA 2.0 for a discrete period of time. Or, a commander who controls the PHA process for his own personnel could request or assign military personnel to complete the Workplace HRA 2.0 (with the mandatory ePHA) at the time of their annual PHA process.
  • Please use the Cut and paste HRA 2.0 emails for your convenience, inform your sailors or marines of the information below
    • Tell them which UIC to use.
    • Tell them the HRA 2.0 is anonymous
    • Tell them that ERS 2.0 aims to identify some of their specific health risks, provide credible web sources of health information, encourage and empower them to better manage their personal health, and serve as a tool for dialogue with a health care provider, if desired.
    • Tell them the data helps you deliver the health promotion services they want and need.
    • Tell them how completing HRA 2.0 helps the order score Blue H points.
