At CCM Health, our philosophy of family-centered care provides women and their families with a positive childbirth experience. We offer labour, delivery and recovery in a convenient and comfortable room. We have an experienced team of doctors and midwives in obstetrics/childbirth and gynecology to welcome you, your newborn and your family.

A safe and comfortable place for you and your newborn

With a focus on the comfort and safety of mothers and newborns, CCM Health labor and delivery rooms Montevideo Hospital and Clinic are designed to make your birthing experience as pleasant and safe as possible. Whether you are a first-time mom or in your fourth pregnancy, our Obstetrics/Childbirth and Gynecology Services team will help you manage your health during pregnancy, monitor the baby’s health and guide you safely throughout your labor and delivery.

Water births

CCM Health is thrilled to share that we have updated our delivery rooms to provide water births for families!

Amenities in your birth room

CCM Health provides family-centered birthing and maternity care, which means we provide your current family and new baby with a safe and comfortable environment during your labor and delivery. Our beautiful birthing suites are private rooms with large windows, private bathroom and whirlpool bath, daybed, TV/DVD, fridge and WiFi. We will provide you and your family with an online birth photo and a birthday dinner with a birthday cake and a gift bag.

The birthing room is designed to simplify the birthing process, allowing you to spend more time with your newborn immediately after delivery. We also encourage skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth for that first special bonding occasion.

Deliver your baby safely

Your individual care plan could benefit from the various pain control methods we use, such as epidurals, nitrous oxide and intravenous medications. For more natural relief and childbirth, we can provide you with a whirlpool tub, birthing ball and birthing stool. We welcome you and encourage you to invite your support people into the delivery room to help you through your labor and birth.

Your plan is worked out between you and your supplier. If necessary, we have the possibility of performing caesarean sections. Our medical technology is up to date and designed to keep you and your baby safe. This includes a fetal monitoring system, Cuddles Baby Safety System, baby warmers and oximeters. Our team of obstetrics and birth nurses suppliers are certified in neonatal resuscitation. We also have a lactation specialist on staff to help you with breastfeeding and related issues.

Educational opportunities for new parents

At CCM Health, we practice family-centered maternity care. Your new family is very important to us and we want to provide you with the most positive birth experience possible. We offer Expectant Parenting and Lactation courses designed to prepare you for the exciting weeks ahead by giving you the knowledge you’ll need to make life-changing decisions for you and your new baby. We cover a variety of topics that focus on pregnancy, labor, delivery and caring for your newborn.

We also offer lactation classes to give you the knowledge about the benefits and facts of breastfeeding.
