The Indiana Department of Health, or IDOH, is partnering with local health departments and other state health care entities to host back-to-school summer vaccination clinics across the part of a statewide effort to help families easily access required and recommended school vaccinations before the start of the school year.
The Start Smart campaign includes an interactive map showing the dates, times and locations of community vaccination clinics. The map is available at https://startsmart.health.in.gov/. The clinics are open to children 5 years and older. Families will not be charged on the clinic site but should provide insurance information if available.
IDOH also sends letters to parents of children whose state immunization records show they are behind on a required vaccination.
