The nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, the American Academy of Pediatrics, seeks a consensus builder to manage the content and format revision of the Bright Futures Guidelines for Health Supervision of Infants, Children and Adolescents and related implementation resources, developing new resources where needed; lead the transition of the guidelines to an online-first version of record, making them accessible, searchable, and easily updatable; develop and manage educational resources and programmatic initiatives designed to support guidelines implementation; and foster a successful implementation of the guidelines by collaborating with internal partners and other national organizations, and by staffing the Guidelines Advisory Group.

 

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, child development, health education, communications or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years’ related experience in public health program management, administration, and evaluation including managing communications activities, as well as developing and fostering collaborative working relationships with partners.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in digital-first publishing and developing/implementing a strategy for translating printed material into streamlined web content a is essential.
  • Experience in elevating and advancing health equity and working with communities that have been historically marginalized is highly desirable, as is grants management experience.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, project management, diplomacy, and verbal/written communication skills required.
  • Must be able to handle a heavy workload, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work both independently and as part of a team, take initiative, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-orientated work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office, a deep understanding of digital publishing processes and technology to support timely updates to online content, and the ability to learn and apply new technology; experience with virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx,Teams) and document collaboration sites (eg, SharePoint) preferred.
  • Some travel and weekend work required, along with need for flexibility in arranging work schedule to accommodate physicians’ availability.
