Lawrence University of Wisconsin, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin, invites applications for the Mark Burstein Professor of Global and Public Health, beginning September 1, 2024.  Appointment to this full-time position will be at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level commensurate with the candidate’s experience. We seek an excellent teacher and scholar who is passionate about working with undergraduates in a liberal arts setting while actively engaging in research.  We are open to candidates trained in a wide range of research areas and are particularly interested in candidates whose research activity is conducive to active participation by undergraduates.  We value community-based learning or research opportunities either locally or globally. We expect the successful candidate to play a significant leadership role in developing and implementing a planned minor in global and public health (GLPH) at Lawrence. By August 1, 2024, candidates must have a PhD or other doctoral degree, including a DrPH, in a field that corresponds to or aligns with an academic department or program at Lawrence, which will become the faculty member’s home department. Candidates with a graduate degree in public health are preferred. Teaching load is two courses per term for three ten-week terms a year, with approximately four courses contributing to GLPH, one of which is epidemiology. The other two courses will contribute to the home department non-GLPH needs, and, on a rotating basis, to Lawrence’s First-Year Studies program.
