About Us
The Department of Global Health is home to a diverse community of scholars who work on medical, social, economic, and political issues related to public health in a global context.
Established by Georgetown University in 2001 as the Department of International Health, the Department of Global Health has been a pioneer in developing an undergraduate degree program in global health. We are dedicated to enhancing institutional, organizational, and global community capacity-building in global health
Our Mission
The mission of the department is to combine intellectual pursuit with real-world impact and field experience to instill in our students a passion for acting as a catalyst for social justice and health equity in local and international communities through research and service.
2022 Year in Review
People
The department has nine full-time and many adjunct faculty members. Expertise spans epidemiology, health systems, health policy, community health, maternal and child health, and governance.
Faculty Research
Our faculty are experts in their areas of focus. In addition to teaching, they conduct research, advise and collaborate with international, federal and local agencies on policy issues and special projects.
