PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – Walmart is inviting Hattiesburg area residents to get a healthy start to the new year with the first “Wellness Day” of 2024.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, customers can receive free glucose, cholesterol, Body Mass Index and blood pressure screenings.
Customers also can receive affordable immunizations like COVID-19, flu, RSV, tetanus, hepatitis and human papillomavirus at pharmacies nationwide.
Walmart is collaborating with the American Cancer Society to educate Mississippi communities about HPV-related cancers.
According to the ACS, Mississippi ranks last of all states for first dose of HPV vaccine for 9–12-year-olds.
American Cancer Society volunteers will also be on hand at select Walmart stores in Mississippi to share educational materials on HPV as part of Wellness Day.
