BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A new study by a University of Vermont researcher found that people who suffer from migraines may also face feelings of stigma associated with their headaches.

Dr. Robert Evan Shapiro, a neurologist with the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, was the author of a study supported by Eli Lilly & Company, the maker of medications to treat migraine.

Darren Perron spoke with Shapiro about the work and where it might lead for treatment of the debilitating disease.
