Ways to improve men’s health

[ad_1]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Men’s Health Month takes place in June and serves as a timely reminder of the critical need to emphasize men’s well-being.

According to current research, barely three out of every five males have an annual physical, and alarmingly, more than 40% seek medical care solely.

Men have a life expectancy of 76.1 years, which is much lower than women’s average of 81.1 years. They are four times more likely to commit suicide and have a higher risk of heart disease, cancer, injuries, stroke, and HIV/AIDS.

During Men’s Health Week, Movember steps up its efforts to engage communities in important talks about men’s health. Movember strives to address the underlying causes of men’s health difficulties by listening to them and their families.

Tim Gnaneswaran, Movember’s Country Director in the United States, has joined the Digital Desk.

He leads a team of enthusiastic healthcare activists dedicated to improving men’s health through financing and implementation of preventative initiatives, as well as advocacy for men’s mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
