Located in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital (WPH) offers treatment for a wide variety of behavioral health conditions. With 263 inpatient beds, we are one of the largest academic psychiatric hospitals in the country with specialized units for both adults and children.

For inpatient child services, depending on the individual’s age and treatment needs, they may be admitted to one of the following units:

• General child/adolescent (3-18).
• Adolescent unit with bipolar disorder assessment (13-18).
• Eating disorders (14 and up).
• Autism and developmental disorders (3 and up).
