Kearney, Neb. — Its roughly 176 days till summer! Maybe that seems impossible to wait that long and you get the winter blues! NTV’S Deandra Kurtenbach sat down with Two Rivers Public Health for advice on Seasonal Affective Disorder or what is more commonly known as SAD.
“Seasonal Affective Disorder is there is less sunlight which means less vitamin D which means less serotonin, which makes you sad, ” said Akaela Lieth of Two Rivers Public Health Department.
Lieth also had these tips for alleviating symptoms.
“Nobody wants to hear it, but exercise It gives you the dopamine and releases endorphins that make you happy- also spending time with people who you really enjoy.” Vitamin D supplements will help – supplement is never as good as what you will get from natural stuff,” Lieth said.
