The Flex Card is a prepaid card that is part of your plan. The card is loaded with a preapproved spending limit that gives you direct, upfront access to certain benefits of your plan. This card eliminates the need for reimbursement requests – and the wait time that comes with them – by allowing you to immediately pay for certain benefits. You just swipe the card to pay for your services and your coverage will be approved if you have funds available. Please refer to your plan materials for benefits that are covered by your Flex Card.
It’s important to note that you cannot use the card for expenses other than those covered by the Flex Card.
We’ll send you a card a few weeks after your plan effective date if your plan is effective after January. The benefit is available the day your coverage begins. Once you receive your card, all you need to do is call the number in your welcome letter to activate the card and get started.
If you forget your card, if your provider doesn’t accept this type of payment or if there are difficulties in using your card, you can submit an eligible expense for reimbursement. You can do this by filing a claim on the Flex Card Member Portal or mailing a Reimbursement Request Form found under the Tools & Support tab in your online portal.
Note: Starting January 1, 2025, all reimbursements for 2025 services must be submitted within 90 days of the service or purchase. (You have 365 days to submit reimbursements for all services and purchases used during 2024.)
Use the member portal to view your spending, check item eligibility and more by visiting HealthAlliance.NationsBenefits.com or call (844) 438-7251 (TTY: 711).
