Question time
How come the premier of QLD got Pfizer yesterday? She’s been eligible for Astra Zeneca for weeks, maybe she’s going to Tokyo not passing my ad test.
-A little mouse
It’s interesting. The official reason is that she is vaccinated for a pending trip to Tokyo, and the 12-week wait between AstraZeneca injections would not have fully vaccinated her on time. But does everyone in Queensland have the same luxury of being able to choose the most convenient vaccine?
It’s a good question, and one explored in this story this morning.
If Victoria ends the lockdown this week, how quickly will other states remove current travel restrictions?
– Need to travel
It’s very difficult to say unfortunately. Some will reopen to travel fairly quickly, while other states will need an extended period without community transmission in Victoria before allowing borders to open. Like everything, it is extremely difficult to predict.
Hello. How can they think of lifting the lockdown when yesterday’s numbers were the highest so far and they still can’t trace the source of the variants and say they’re so contagious? I just don’t understand the reasoning.
-Perplexed
Yesterday’s numbers did not turn out as bad as initially feared, as all cases were linked and the vast majority were family contacts of existing cases that were already isolated. You are correct that the Delta variant tracing is a concern, which will hopefully be addressed today.
It’s my birthday today … and all I want is donuts !!
-Crossed fingers
Happy Birthday! I’m sure we would all love to have birthday donuts with you.
