Almost 40% of the state’s residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Utah’s COVID-19 vaccine count surged on Friday – but not because so many people got vaccinated on Thursday. According to the Utah Department of Health, the 37,700 vaccinations include about 26,000 injections that had been given by a pharmacy provider dating back to Jan. 19, which had not been previously reported.
Due to the late notification, the number of Utahns fully vaccinated against the coronavirus jumped by more than 22,000, to around 1.29 million. That’s almost 40% of Utah’s total population.
According to UDOH, there have been 266 new cases of COVID-19, but no additional deaths.
Vaccine doses administered during the last day / total doses administered • 37,700 / 2,713,796.
Fully vaccinated utahns • 1,293,995.
Cases reported in the last day • 266.
Deaths reported in the past day • Nothing.
Tests reported the day before • 3,737 people were tested for the first time. A total of 7,094 people were tested.
Hospitalizations reported in the last day • 157. That’s two more than Thursday. Of those currently hospitalized, 57 are in intensive care, two more than Thursday.
Percentage of positive tests • According to the original state method, the rate is 7.1%. This is above / below the seven-day average of 6.8%.
The state’s new method counts all test results, including repeat testing of the same individual. Friday’s rate was 3.7%, lower than the seven-day average of 4.4%

Totals to date • 409,007 cases; 23,919 deaths; 17,060 hospitalizations; 2,731,915 people tested.
