Ontario, meanwhile, reported 114 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday and no new deaths from the virus.

The Sudbury Health Unit has performed 264,016 COVID-19 tests as of July 10. No new cases have tested positive for the variants of concern.

There have been 2,172 reported cases of the virus in the region since the pandemic began 14 months ago, including 2,019 in Greater Sudbury, 113 in the District of Sudbury and 40 in the District of Manitoulin.

The health unit has reported 31 COVID-related deaths.

The vaccination program is still progressing in the region as Public Health launched its new mobile vaccination clinic on Monday, consisting of a converted public transport bus.

Public health, First Nations and Indigenous communities, and primary care partners administered 212,180 first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

A total of 127,231 people received their first dose and 84,949 people in the Sudbury area are fully immunized.

The health unit received a total of 208,728 doses of vaccine and 221 doses were wasted. That’s 0.1 percent, according to the Public Health website.

No new COVID-19 outbreaks or possible risks of exposure have been reported.
