Emergent BioSolutions Inc. said Wednesday that the federal government had exercised an option for Emergent to deliver doses of smallpox vaccine to the US national stockpile.
The option, exercised under Emergent’s 10-year contract with the office of the assistant secretary for preparation and response, is worth approximately $ 182.2 million, Emergent said in a regulatory filing. He added that the doses will be delivered by the end of the year.
Emerging’s 10-year contract with the agency, which is part of the Department of Health and Social Services, began in 2019.
