Thousands of Santri and the board of Islamic boarding schools in Jombang participate in simultaneous vaccination supervised by President Joko Widodo – POLRI UNIT

POLRESTA SIDOARJO – National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo followed President Joko Widodo on a working visit to East Java province to review the implementation of free vaccination and worship houses and Islamic boarding schools (ponies) simultaneously throughout Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua.

The highlight of this event was held at KH Syamsudin Islamic Boarding School, Ponorogo, East Java, which was directly connected to 341 Islamic boarding houses and places of worship throughout Indonesia and had a total target of 346,688 people.

In this context, President Jokowi welcomed the practical implementation of independent vaccination at the Gontor Islamic Boarding School in East Java, the Cathedral Cathedral of the Church of the Holy Cathedral. In addition to vaccinations, President Jokow’s social assistance (bansos) in this activity also distributed 60,341 basic food packages and 88 tons of rice to residents most affected by the economy due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Implementing a vaccination program in prayer rooms seeks to revitalize prayer rooms as a social mission. The function of the houses of worship is primarily to guide the behavior of their congregations in the order of social life, including the administration of Covid-19.

At the same time, GOR Hasbullah Said Ponpes Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang also held a Covid-19 vaccine and prepared 1,500 doses of Sinovac vaccine for students and administrators.

The vaccination process at the same time in Islamic boarding schools and prayer rooms was directly followed by Jungang Police Chief AKBP Agung Setyo Nugroho together with Forkopimda Jombang.

“Today, we are working with the local government and Dandim to speed up national vaccinations and target Islamic boarding schools and prayer rooms,” Jombang Police Chief AKBP Agung Setyo Nugroho explained to reporters at the vaccination site on Tuesday (07/09/2021).

The police chief explained that this vaccination among Islamic boarding schools and prayer rooms is a presidential order to comply with the set national targets. Jombang police have prepared at least 1,500 doses of Sinovac vaccine for the administrators of Santri and the Islamic Boarding School.

“The number of participants in the Tambakberas vaccinations at the Islamic Boarding School of Bahrul Ulum, combined with previous activities, the total number has reached 1,500 targets,” he noted.
