JAKARTA, Sept 14 (Reuters) – Indonesia’s parliamentary committee on budgets and government have agreed to set an economic growth target of 5.2% for 2022, roughly at the heart of President Joko Widodo’s 5.0% -5.5% proposal, said committee chairman Said Abdullah . on tuesday.
The committee and government also tentatively agreed to increase spending plans for 2022 to rupee 2,714.2 trillion ($ 190.31 billion). This is slightly more than the president’s proposal in August of Rs 2,708.7 trillion, assuming revenue increases accordingly.
The general government deficit target remains at 4.85% of GDP. A wider parliamentary vote is needed on the 2022 budget, probably later this month or October, but committee approval is generally accepted.
