In January-November 2021, the police investigated 1,032 cases of corruption and the Public Prosecutor’s Office investigated 1,486 cases of corruption. At the same time, the chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri, said in his report that since its establishment, the KPK has so far dealt with 1,291 cases of corruption.

“Several major cases of corruption have also been taken seriously. In the Jiwasraya case, for example, the prosecutor’s office has executed the convicts and two of them have been sentenced to life imprisonment and up to 18 trillion rupees have been confiscated from the state, the president said.

Meanwhile, in the case of Asabri, up to seven defendants were prosecuted from 10 years in prison to death sentences and state damages amounting to tens of trillions of rupees.
