Liputan6.com, Jakarta President Joko Widodo or Jokowi receives a house as a gift from the state. The house is located in Colomadu, Karanganyar, Central Java.

The palace said the granting of the house was in accordance with the Law on Financial/Administrative Rights of the President and Vice President and Former President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

“According to Law Number 7 of 1978, the state gave the house to the former president and former vice president,” Bey Machmudin, deputy director of press and media protocol at the presidential secretariat, told reporters on Saturday (Dec 17, 2022).

This is also stated in Presidential Decree No. 52 of 2014. According to the decree, former presidents and/or former vice presidents are entitled to receive an apartment only once. Including those with a tenure of more than 1 season.

The following is the mandate of Law No. 7 of 1978 on the Financial/Administrative Rights of the President and Vice President and Former President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Article 8

“For the Honorably Retired Former President and Former Vice President:

a. is given a proper residence with all equipment;

b. provided the driver with a state-owned vehicle.“
