Nancy Pelosi on her last legs: Devine

Nancy Pelosi used to point her angry finger at Donald Trump, but she leaves him in the dust when it comes to breaking rules, dividing Congress, and causing havoc. If anyone is responsible for hyper-partisanship in Washington these days, it’s the spiteful House Speaker.

She behaves more like a guerrilla mafia than a respectable, fair and honest chief officer, which is what the speaker role requires.

Pelosi abuses her power in previously unimaginable ways. Her speech was the antithesis of Lincoln’s plea to “the best angels of our nature”. Everyone in Congress – and therefore the nation – is stained with the malice and vitriol that you have achieved in the political sphere. There is no Christian grace or charity, just a wasteland of zero-sum game, strength for power.

This was made worse by her increasingly frantic claims that she was a “devout Catholic.”

The fact that all this poison was packaged in the form of a small, old, inferior woman gave her an element of respect that her actions did not deserve. But in the past week, there were a few signs that she had finally worn out her welcome.

One was playing on the select committee on January 6, when she arbitrarily dismissed two Republicans — Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana — from an already-stacked committee.

She claimed that “integrity” required a veto because Republicans “have made statements and taken actions that I believe will affect the integrity of the committee.”

Hahaha. This is a panel that includes models of integrity such as Adam “Steele Dossier” Schiff.

Pelosi is afraid of Jordan and the banks, even though she owns the majority. This is the real reason. She fears that they will bring to the Committee, on behalf of the American people they are supposed to represent, the very reasonable question of her responsibility for the events of January 6. Obviously, what was the reason for leaving the Capitol Police outnumbered and unprotected? Jordan and Banks wanted to ask why Capitol Police Chief Stephen Sund’s request for the National Guard to support his forces was denied? Why were his repeated requests to the sergeant in arms – who answers directly to Pelosi? We’re talking about repeated requests, from two days before the riots to hours after the Capitol breach. Why did she blame Sunde and force him to quit hours after the riot, then lie the next day when she said he didn’t bother calling her? It stinks.

Nancy Pelosi is not interested in the investigation. “She’s only interested in the story,” Banks told Fox News Sunday.

“Once you get to the top of the flagpole in charge of the Capitol Police… Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, has more control, authority, and responsibility over the leadership of the Capitol Police than anyone else in the United States Capitol. So, she doesn’t want us to put up These questions because at the end of the day are ultimately responsible for the breakdown of security at the Capitol that occurred on January 6.”

These are questions that a bipartisan commission will ask to find the truth. But the truth for Pelosi is like a cross for a vampire.

Another question for the panel would be whether the shooting of Ashley Babbitt by a Capitol officer was justified. It can also examine the real and documented inhumane treatment of suspects on January 6 who have not been charged with violent crimes but who remain in prison without trial down the hill from Congress, many of whom are now in solitary confinement for their seventh month.

But everyone knows Pelosi just wants to turn the committee into a third Trump impeachment and ensure it runs into next year in the vain hope of distracting midterm voters from the Biden-led car crash. All she has. Pelosi’s hateful actions nearly cost the House Democrats in November, and she kept the speaker by a thread, so it was time for her to lifeboats at sea.

“Why would you allow a lame speaker to destroy this institution?” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said last week when he withdrew all five Republicans he nominated from Pelosi’s committee.

Pelosi on Sunday swept up anti-Trump Adam Kinzinger to join fellow outcast Liz Cheney as Republican pets.

She declared that Kinzinger “brings great patriotism to the commission’s mission,” flaunting the word “patriotism” just as she did the word “integrity.”

Kinzinger succumbed to the compliment: “Today, I was asked to serve on the bipartisan Select Committee on January 6, and I humbly accepted. When duty calls, I will always answer.”

This humility.

It is now up to McCarthy to give body to the Freedom Caucus’ demands for a “distinguished proposal, by July 31, 2021, to vacate the chair and end Nancy Pelosi’s authoritarian reign as Speaker of the House.”

“Her term is destroying the House of Representatives and our ability to faithfully represent the people we are here to serve,” the Republicans wrote in a letter to McCarthy.

The move is undoubtedly doomed, but it is well worth rehearsing, even if Pelosi is responsible for her divisive judgment.

Another sign that Pelosi is waning is her archbishop’s explosive reaction to her posing in your face as a “devout Catholic” and who happens to be an abortion activist.

“As a devout Catholic and mother of five in six years, I feel God has blessed my husband and I with our beautiful family,” Pelosi said last week at the same time she emphasized taxpayer-funded abortions as a “priority.”

It is an issue of equity and justice for the poorest women in our country. . . The right thing to do.”

Enough to make you vomit.

But San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordelion really saw through sophistry. “Using the guise of abortion as a matter of health and equity for poor women is an example of hypocrisy: what about the health of a child who is killed?” He told the Catholic News Agency. “How about giving poor women a real choice, so that they are supported in choosing life?”

“Real ‘religious’ Catholics are ‘followers of the faith who run pro-life pregnancy clinics; they are the only ones who offer poor women living alternatives to murdering their babies in the womb’.”

Catholics everywhere criticize the piety of Pelosi and fellow apostate Joe Biden. If they must sin, can they at least take the debt away from her?

The real question is: Where is the thunderbolt?
