After a disappointing streak that left Dexter Morgan with a ragged beard and an unsatisfying ending, Michael C. Hall returns to see if everyone’s favorite serial killer can get a better goodbye.

Dexter: New Blood catches up with the elusive killer 10 years after he “disappeared” in a hurricane. Under the name Jim Lindsay, he started a new life, working in a small town store and smiling at all the locals who embraced him as a friend. But Dexter’s Dark Passenger still remains, and it seems that the desire to kill may threaten his new way of life. Watch the trailer for Dexter: New Blood below.

Dexter: New Blood is meant to be a 10-episode limited return from the show that ran for eight seasons on Showtime. Will this give us a new ending for Dexter Morgan, or could this be a possible signal for a longer comeback for the serial killer who has run through the sap over the years? It probably depends on the ratings.

Not long ago, we learned that John Lithgow would be returning to Dexter with a guest star as The Trinity Killer. However, since the rival killer died at the hands of Dexter a long time ago, we’re sure he won’t appear in the flesh. We think he will appear to Dexter in a vision, possibly as a new form of the Dark Passenger.

Another possibility for the return of The Trinity Killer might be the Dark Passenger of Dexter’s son Harrison. The last time we saw him was when he was left with Hannah before Dexter faked his death. Harrison could be old enough to search for his father if he had the idea that he might be alive somewhere. This will be a huge revelation for the series’ comeback.

Joining Michael C. Hall in Dexter: New Blood will be Julia Jones (The Mandalorian), Alano Miller (Sylvie Love), Johnny Sequoyah (Blief), Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird) and Clancy Brown (The Crown). Clyde Phillips has returned to work as a presenter, and will also be an executive producer with Michael C. Hall, John Goldwyn, Sarah Colliton, Marcos Seiga, Bill Carraro, and Scott Reynolds. 10 years after Dexter disappeared in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the series finds him living under an assumed name in the small New York town of Iron Lake. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this tight-knit community, Dark Passenger prepares.
