A 3.4-magnitude earthquake occurred at 6:21 p.m. Sunday in the Mendocino National Forest in Lake County, near its western border with Mendocino County, the US Geological Survey reported.
The epicenter was 1.3 kilometers (0.8 miles) deep, about 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) west-northwest of Alder Springs and about 200 miles north of San Francisco.
