The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Oklahoma notified the Big 12 Athletic Conference today that they will not renew their grant of media rights after expiration in 2025. Giving notice to the Big 12 at this point is important before the expiration of the conference’s existing media rights agreement. Universities intend to honor existing rights award agreements. However, the two universities will continue to monitor the rapidly developing collegiate athletics scene as they consider how best to develop athletics programs in the future.
